Music is Central!

The University of Central Oklahoma School of Music is recognized nationwide as one of Oklahoma’s foremost institutions for preparing professional musicians in all fields. The School is proud of the high academic and performance standards exemplified by a gifted faculty of conductors, studio teachers, composers, historians, theorists, music educators, scholars and administrators.

Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music, the UCO School of Music boasts a variety of instrumental ensembles, choral groups, and musical theater troupes that travel nationally and internationally, providing music for professional venues, schools, and conventions, in addition to their numerous campus performances.

Alumni perform with recognized musical theater production companies, service bands, major orchestras, as well as leading jazz ensembles and recording studios throughout the country. Public schools and universities in Oklahoma and around the nation are staffed with hundreds of UCO School of Music graduates. The School of Music maintains a high level of commitment to its students, alumni, and musical community, and is dedicated to assisting them in meeting the challenges of an ever-broadening and diversifying musical world. With new performance and rehearsal facilities in the discussion and planning stages, the School of Music will be even better equipped to continue its mission through the new millennium.
